What we teach

Growing in Excellence. Rooted in Faith.

Planting seeds every day

Everything students see, hear, and experience at Base Christian School is intentionally rooted in biblical truth. Our desire is to cultivate a life of learning that glorifies God both in heart and in mind. Students engage in daily Bible classes and attend weekly whole-school chapel to nurture their spiritual growth and deepen their walk with Christ.

Teachers are the curriculum

Children learn most from the lives of those who teach them. Our passionate, faith-filled teachers model Christlike character every day. Unified in mission, our classes follow the same learning goals and curriculum for a rich, cohesive experience.

Child-Focused Education

We celebrate the unique, God-given potential of every child. While we keep the small size class with support, we are deeply committed to knowing and nurturing each student personally and intentionally.

Character Formation

This is the season for foundational for shaping character. With Jesus as our ultimate model, we guide students to reflect biblical values in school and at home. We also teach students to use words that express respect, gratitude, and curiosity, training them to be thoughtful, Christlike communicators.

Fostering Childlike Wonder

Through outdoor exploration, nature walks, and field trips, we help students discover the wonder of God’s creation and develop the beauty of their childlike hearts.

A Joyful, Loving Environment

We intentionally create a safe, joyful, and loving space where students feel seen, valued, and excited to learn. Our homeroom teachers are key to cultivating this environment.

Worship

Education is an act of worship. Psalm 8:2 reminds us: “Out of the mouths of babes and infants, You have established strength.” One of the most beautiful moments at Base is witnessing our students worship wholeheartedly.

Academics with a Christian Worldview

At Base Christian School, we are deeply committed to academic excellence within a faith-filled learning environment that is also fun, creative, and engaging.

Our curriculum meets or exceeds the Ontario Ministry of Education standards in all core subjects, while weaving in a distinctly Christian worldview through the Teaching for Transformation and Heart Concept frameworks.

To ensure academic growth and accountability, all students participate in the MAP Growth Test, a widely respected assessment used by Christian schools across Canada and the U.S.

Special Education

We believe that every child is uniquely created by God and is an important part of our school community. We are committed to walking alongside students who require additional academic, social, emotional, or physical support in order to thrive in a Christ-centred learning environment.

With a dedicated team, including a Student Support Teacher (SST), Educational Assistants (EAs), and a collaborative teaching staff, we aim to reflect God’s heart by providing opportunities for all learners to grow in wisdom, character, and faith.

Our Special Education program is built to meet students where they are and help them thrive. We:

  • Provide personalized accommodations and strategies to support diverse learning needs

  • Work closely with classroom teachers to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

  • Offer 1:1 or small group modified classes tailored to each student

  • Partner with parents, caregivers, and professionals to create a consistent support system

  • Encourage confidence, independence, and growth in every student

  • Nurture an inclusive and compassionate classroom rooted in grace and belonging
